How each tool shows a result
Textumi places a needle on a gauge that ranges from “Human” to “AI” and labels the result with one of the five labels ranging from “Human-written” to “AI-generated”. If you have an account, you will also see which passages of the text influenced the result most. If the text is less than 50 words, it will instead display “Too little text to judge”.
ZeroGPT shows a gauge with the percentage of text it reads as AI-written, highlights the sentences behind it and can produce a PDF report. Its API returns probabilities for the whole document, each paragraph and each sentence.
A label and a percentage are both a model's estimate from the wording. Neither proves who wrote a text, and a percentage is not a measured share of generated text.
Which languages each detector covers
Textumi detects AI writing in 20 text languages. The English and Ukrainian detectors have the longest record. The detectors for the other languages were built and tested on a narrower set of texts, and some of them miss many AI texts in other genres, so a longer passage gives a steadier result there.
ZeroGPT says its detector was trained on all languages and supports all available languages across its tools, but it publishes no list of detection languages. Its website has versions in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.
Rewriting a draft: two different approaches
Textumi's Humanizer works in the same account as the detector. It rewrites a draft so that it reads more naturally and then checks the new version against your original: facts, names, numbers, exact names such as quoted labels, and the logic of each sentence. A version that fails these checks is not shown, and your original stays beside the result.
The Humanizer takes 50 to 2,000 words in English and up to 1,000 words in the other languages. It does not promise a lower score in any detector.
ZeroGPT offers an AI humanizer and a paraphraser among its tools. Its humanizer page offers a basic model and an advanced one, and says the advanced model is provided by a partner company.
Where you can use each tool
Textumi works in four places with one account. The web workspace takes pasted text, files and public web pages. Textumi for Chrome checks and rewrites text on any web page from a side panel. Textumi for macOS keeps the AI Detector and the Humanizer on a toolbar above your other apps and needs a Mac with Apple silicon. The MCP connector lets Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants check and rewrite a text with Textumi right in the conversation.
ZeroGPT works on its website and also through WhatsApp and a Telegram bot. It offers an API for businesses with batch processing. We found no official browser extension, desktop app or MCP connector on its pages.
Privacy and history
Textumi stores submitted texts and results encrypted, and detection runs on Textumi's own servers. For rewriting, the text also goes to the external AI model provider named in our privacy policy. On Individual and Professional, your private History keeps requests for 30 days, and you can delete them earlier. A check without an account keeps no text.
ZeroGPT's FAQ says that by default it does not publish, save or sell your text or use it for training, and that account data is stored encrypted in Germany. For its full rules, read ZeroGPT's privacy policy.
Who each tool suits
ZeroGPT suits you if you want many quick text tools in one place, checks through WhatsApp or Telegram, detection of AI images and video next to text, or an API with batch processing for your business.
Textumi suits you if you want the detector and a Humanizer with fact checks in one account, a native app on your Mac, or checks and rewrites from inside your AI assistant. It also suits you if you need a published list of detection languages, including Polish and Ukrainian, or if you prefer a plain label with the passages behind it.

Întrebări frecvente
Is Textumi an alternative to ZeroGPT?
It depends on what you need. Textumi is an alternative if you want a detector with a published list of languages, a Humanizer with fact checks in the same account, a macOS app or a connector for your AI assistant. If you want many text tools, image and video detection or access through WhatsApp and Telegram, ZeroGPT offers those and Textumi does not.
Which detector is more accurate, Textumi or ZeroGPT?
We do not make that claim. Each company tests on its own texts, and the results are not comparable. Any detector can flag human writing and miss AI writing, most often in short, edited or translated texts. The fairest test is your own: check a few texts whose origin you know with both tools and compare what each one shows.
Can I use either tool without an account?
Textumi's AI Detector checks texts of 5 to 250 words without an account, up to three times a day, and the Humanizer needs an account. ZeroGPT shows a text box of up to 15,000 characters on its home page; its pricing page describes a plan without payment that needs signing up, so check its site for the current rules.
Which languages does ZeroGPT detect?
ZeroGPT says it was trained on all languages but publishes no list, so we cannot say how it handles a particular language. Textumi names its 20 detection languages, including Polish, Ukrainian, Spanish and French; the English and Ukrainian detectors have the longest record, and in the other languages a longer passage gives a steadier result.
Does ZeroGPT check for plagiarism?
Yes, ZeroGPT offers a plagiarism checker as a separate tool. Textumi does not check for plagiarism: its detector estimates whether the wording resembles AI writing, which is a different question from whether a text was copied from a source.
Written by ChatGPT? Can either tool tell me?
Both tools read a text's wording, not its history. Textumi's detector never mentions a model, and we have not tested it directly on ChatGPT, therefore we make no claim about any model. A label or a percentage is only an estimation based on style and is not a way to prove authorship, whatever tool is used to show it.
